Directions: In a large saucepan over high heat, bring the apple juice, brown sugar, and salt to a boil, stirring to disolve the sugar and salt. Cook for 1 minute, remove from the heat, and skim off the foam. Allow the mixture to cool to room temprature.In a 5-gallon plastic bucket or other container large enough to easily hod the turkey, combine the water, oranges, ginger, cloves, bay leaves, and garlic. Add the apple juice mixture and stir.Remove and discard the fat from the turkey cavity. Rince the turkey inside and out, drain, and submerge the turkey in the brine. If necessary, top with a heavy weight to make sure it is completely immersed. Refrigerate for 24 hours.If done near Thanksgiving, it us usually cool enough outside to keep the turkey soaking outside. |

Apple-pie bread Combine ingredients according to manufacturer's directions. Note: This is a
corrected version of the prior post.
1 Pound:
1 ts active dry yeast 1 ts cinnamon
3 1/2 tb sugar
2 1/4 ts bread flour 1 ts salt 4 ts buttermilk powder or Donna german's turkey stuffing Saute celery and onion in the butter/margarine until soft; toss with bread
in a bowl. Add warmed broth and season and mix until well belnded. Stuff
bird or bake in a covered casserole at 350 F. for 20 minutes.
