Apple and barley pudding (irish) Put the barley in the water and bring to the boil. Add the sliced apples and continue cooking gently until the barley and apples are soft. Press through a sieve, or put through the blender, and put back in the saucepan.

Sift together flour, baking powder (1 Tbsp amount is correct), baking
soda, salt sugar and cinnamon.
Beat sour milk and eggs in a small bowl. Add apples, unpeeled and cut into
small pieces and melted butter.
Apple pork chops Cook the chops using melted fat trimmed from the meat and 1 tsp butter.
(Note those concerned about their fat intake may chose to use corn oil or
some other vegetable oil rather than the pork fat). Season to taste and set

any impurities). Combine rice and 1 1/3 cups water and bouillon. Bring to a
boil, reduce heat. Cover and simmer 60 minutes.* Meanwhile cook bacon
partially and add mushr Herbed rice In a medium size pot, heat the oil. Add onions, garlic, and rice, and

Wild rice In skillet, stir-fry celery, onion, and parsley in butter for 10 minutes.
Blend tofu and water together; add to skillet; also add wild rice, brown
rice, lemon juice and rosemary; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and
let rice absorb moisture Rice, orange and pecan salad Toss all ingredients together. Serve at room temperature.
Wild rice pilaf Stir rices into boiling water & add salt. Simmer covered for 40 minutes.

cal Wild zucchini rice salad Cook the dry rices. (Soak the wild rice in 1/2 cup water for 2-4 hours.
Then cook it in 1/2 cup water for 15-20 minutes and then add the brown rice
and cook together for 45-60 minutes longer. Add extra water if necessary.)
The rices will make 1 Lentil & brown rice soup Place first 6 ingredients in large soup pot. Cover with 3 cups water &
bring to a boil. Cover & simmer for 7 to 8 minutes. Add 2 more cups of
water along with the rest of the ingredients. Cover & simmer for 25 to 30
minutes. Se Rice and lentils Sautee the onion and garlic in the oil in a large saucepan. Add the spices and cook over low heat for 4 minutes. Add the rice and lentils and stir to mix well. Add the rice & st Lentil-rice roast with cashew gravy Pick over the lentils, then combine in a saucepan with the millet, rice,
and water. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer until cooked, about
1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil two 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch loaf
pans.
Spicy rice pilaf with turkey Toast cashews if using. Saute the rice, cumin seeds, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom seeds and cloves in the oil in a saucepan until the rice is browned. Add the stock or water and bring the mixture to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 45 to 50 minutes o Rice and peas with tempeh Saute rice & coconut in 2 1/2 tb oil for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring
constantly. Add water & cinnamon stick. Cover pot & bring to a boil.
Reduce heat & simer for 40 minutes, or till all the water has evaporated.
